the fire might go for it
and the kids sleep early
so stay awake my little love
and we wont get cold
and we'll breathe deep after the smoke clears
and the kids wake up eager to play
and the embers are furtive
and our yawns are like sheep
the fire might die
and the smoke will fill the room
so stay awake my little love
and we might have to keep each other warm
and everything else might freeze
and all the lights might be turned out
and all the kids will have cried
and all our smiles are like quick paint
the fire might burn
and the smoke will crawl the walls of the chimney
so stay awake my little love
and we will see the magic
and the people in the train will see our fire
and the bed will be ours
and the smoke will jump into clouds
and the fire will keep us warm
so stay awake my little love
and the kids will wake up early to play
and the fire will still be warm
so stay awake my little love
